Professor Sophie Witter of the ReBUILD Consortium and Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh will be speaking at a free webinar at 2pm BST on Thursday 17th May.

The session, organised by the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut, will focus on 'Health Systems in Situations of Fragility'. In it Prof Witter will draw on the work of the ReBUILD consortium, the NIHR Research Unit on Health in Fragility, and wider experiences and literature to examine:

  • The meaning of fragility in relation to health systems and the societies in which they are based, and its links to conflict-affectedness

  • Distribution and trends in fragility and conflict-affectedness

  • What are the issues raised for health systems?

  • What have we learned about how to address them?

Examples will focus on health financing and human resources but with wider links to governance and other health system blocks.

Your comments, experiences and questions will be welcomed to make this an interactive event.
