Exploratory review of financial autonomy at primary care level

The presentation entitled ‘Exploratory review of financial autonomy at primary care level’, given by Professor Sophie Witter at the 6th Meeting of the Montreux Collaborative Conference [opens new tab] in November 2023, can be viewed below. A PDF of the presentation can be downloaded here.

The team at Queen Margaret University was commissioned by WHO to deliver the study on which the presentation is based. It talks to an important issue for resilience – the extent to which they can manage their resources with flexibility, which is well documented to be crucial in responding to shocks and stressors. While autonomy has been more commonly granted to hospitals and higher level facilities, this area is much more neglected at primary care level, which is the focus of this presentation.

The full Montreux Collaborative meeting report can be found on the WHO website [opens new tab].
