Fouad Fouad of the American University of Beirut team gave this lecture to staff and students at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in February 2024. In it he explores the definitions used to describe different migrants in different contexts, gives a sense of the scale of the displaced persons problem and who those people are, considers the changing face of forced displacement, and proposes areas for future study.
