Thazin La of Burnet Institute Myanmar speaks on her team’s experience and reflections of including and engaging disabled participants in research in Myanmar.

Data and research on disability are very limited in Myanmar. In this presentation, the Burnet team aimed to reflect on its experience of including disabled populations as research participants and to share the challenges and lessons learned during data collection. The study in question was a mixed-methods study on adolescent mental health, conducted in both urban (Dagon Myothit Township, Yangon Region) and rural (Magway Township, Magway Region) areas of Myanmar.
